Itinerary

Upon arrival at the airport (Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport), your personal driver-guide or our representative will meet you. From here, you will be driven to your accommodation in Arusha for an overnight stay, waiting for your adventures to start the following day.

After breakfast, you will meet an office representative for a briefing about your safari, then take two 2-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. Along the way, you will take in the scenic views of the grassland plains speckled with ancient baobab trees, traditional Maasai houses, and cattle herded by the nomadic people. You will see all that Tarangire National Park is known for – the famous ancient baobab trees, tree-climbing pythons, and the largest concentration of African elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs. After a picnic lunch in midday, you will resume your afternoon game drive, then drive to the hotel

Your drive from Karatu to the Serengeti will wind you through wide green hills and across flat lowlands. The land stretches to the horizon in all directions, interrupted only by small dusty towns and earthy round Maasai huts. Once you’ve crossed into the Serengeti, you’ll be on a game drive as you make your way towards the camp. The southern section of the park is covered with flat or gently rolling grasslands and occasionally dotted with rock kopjes, home to good populations of resident game. Big cats love to have a good vantage point and the kopjes provide that. Massive herds of wildebeest call this southern section home when they’re birthing before moving farther north. The Serengeti is home to a variety of landscapes, and what’s around you will depend on where you’re staying in the park.

Today you will continue your African safari experience to one of the country’s biggest draws: the Serengeti National Park. The endless plains and abundance of wildlife that call the Serengeti home are unsurpassed. The wildebeest migration with more than a million wildebeest is probably the highlight of the Serengeti. It is a true spectacle and impressive to watch millions of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles thunder across the endless plains of the Serengeti.

Together with your private guide, you will be looking for the herds across the plains. Apart from the migratory animals, you will also get to see lots of other animals, like lions, cheetahs, leopards, and many more. Expect to be impressed by the natural beauty of Africa’s most famous park.

If you like to watch wildlife from another perspective, we recommend you go on a balloon safari. This activity is available at an extra cost. It is an amazing experience to drift silently above the plains with herds of wildlife.

After breakfast, you will head out for an en-route game drive through the Serengeti. You might be able to spot the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard – before embarking on your journey to Ngorongoro Crater. This UNESCO world heritage site formed millions of years ago is 600 m deep and covers roughly 260 square kilometers. Due to its dense animal population of approximately 25 000, the Crater offers the best game viewing of all the parks in Tanzania. You will arrive at the Crater rim before lunch. You will descend into the Crater and very quickly, you will be able to see wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, elephants, and some of the more than 500 bird species in the area. With a little bit of luck, you might catch a glimpse of the endangered black rhino through the grass.

After lunch and a full afternoon inside the Crater, you will head to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you’ll depart from the lodge and begin the drive to Lake Manyara National Park. The journey takes approximately two hours; you’ll enter Lake Manyara National Park. The park is truly a photographer’s playground and offers some of the best game viewing in the world. You can expect to see many of Africa’s most well-known animals, with the tree-climbing lions a particular treat. These proud predators lounge in acacia trees, practically begging to be photographed. Bird watchers will find Lake Manyara is an absolute delight, with a huge variety of birds on display in the park. Even the novice can expect to be amazed by large flamingo flocks, circling birds of prey, and the brightly coloured lilac-breasted roller.

Later on drive back to Arusha and dropped at the Airport to catch your flight to Zanzibar.
